Assembling sails 3 and 4

I’m afraid this description of our September working party is a bit late!

Sail 3 assembled

We are preparing for the next sail lift day when we put sails 3 and 4 and the fantail into position. In order to do this, we mounted sail 3 onto the stock and then fitted all of the backstays. Once we’d done that we could put sail 4 onto trestles and assemble that one too.

We also needed to give the fanstar and hoops another coat of paint.

Finally, we carried on with some repairs to the fanstage that allows access to and holds the fantail in place.
